Pupils at Sound have opportunity to experience a wide range of musical activities both during lessons and in as part of extra-curricular activities.

We follow a curriculum that ensures all children have many opportunities to compose and perform their own compositions as well as listen and appraise a wide range of musical styles. Recently the PTA funded the purchase of a huge range of percussion instruments for use in lessons which as further benefitted the children in their learning.

Individual lessons in a wide variety of instruments are availiable to the children in school time, provided by specialist music teachers. These include clarinet, flute, cornet, guitar and piano. Extra curricular clubs such as recorder, choir and performing arts are also offered throughout the school year.

The weekly Singing Assembly seeks to further develop musical skills whilst also providing a time where children can reflect upon the lyrics of the songs sung in the daily collective worship.
